WASHINGTON - A Republican gubernatorial candidate's call for creation of a forced labor camp for illegal immigrants drew rebukes Friday from two GOP lawmakers, who labeled it a low point in the immigration debate.

Don Goldwater, nephew of the late Sen. Barry Goldwater, caused an international stir this week when EFE, a Mexican news service, quoted him as saying he wanted to hold undocumented immigrants in camps to use them "as labor in the construction of a wall and to clean the areas of the Arizona desert that they're polluting."

3. I said something about this in DU a year ago when all this

immigration talk got ugly. I said that we are so following in the footsteps of the Nazis and now we have a scapegoat, undocumented workers, just like the Nazis had the Jews. If they start rounding up the workers for being undocumented, they will have to build new prisons or re-location camps (concentration camps). Of course you can't have them sitting around idle so you want to put them to work (slave labor). So the workers will still be here working except that this time it will be for nothing.

You can imagine this started a flame war by all the xenophobic DUers and I was called every name in the book. But...look...it's happening.
