Subtle racism from caller on Thom Hartmann.

Talking about the immigrant demonstrations, she said that the Spanish radio stations were instrumental in organizing the demonstrations and that they should be stopped. (Do First Ammendment rights only apply to non-hispanic Americans? Most of the demonstrators were American hispanics and legal immigrants.) Then she said that these stations' ownership are mostly Clear Channel with GE as the parent corporation.

She wanted to know why they "allowed" this to be promoted. Thom answered it was for the money because those were their listeners so they needed to pander to them. :wow: I'm really disappointed in Thom not pointing out the First Ammendment rights here. What am I missing here? Is only one class of Americans and residents allowed the right to protest?

I do not think Univision or Telemundo are owned by Clear Channel or GE, they are Foreign investments. It is funny how the GOP want people to believe that Clear Channel isn't Conservative. Bet the caller was a freeper.

I don't know you but i am getting sick and tired of the word "pandering" in the same sentence as "Hispanics".

It is shocking that our heritage, our contribution to keeping this joint together is simply not recognized -- not even when it's codified in treaty or law.
