I'm going under the knife for the third time this Thursday.
My docs decided that this (rather than radiation) is the best way to go.
Like all of us, I've read about cancer on the web until my eyes bleed, and second surgeries for Ovarian are pretty rare -- so I imagine that THIRD surgeries are almost unheard of.
I suppose they wouldn't do it if it had metastesized, but it hasn't -- and they are confident that they can (once again) remove it.
Then I'll have to go back on chemo. I'm completely unenthusiastic about THAT!
Wish me luck.

4. Well --- I came through another one! |
|
My surgeon strolled into my hospital room at 8:00 yesterday morning.
I was out of bed and walking around and he was really pleased to see that. After a bit, he asked me what I wanted to do, and I said "I WANT TO GO HOME!!". And he said that I could. So I did.
Surgery was rough, as usual. He had to remove 4" of my colon because the cancer had attached itself to the outside of that part of the colon.
I have to admit that the worst part of it was not having anything to eat for 5 days!
Just before I left the hospital, they allowed me to have a cup of coffee and a blueberry muffin and I nearly cried with joy!!
All's well and I'm feeling pretty good.

5. Surgery is bad enough, but no food? That's just cruel. |

I'm glad everything went well and that you're feeling ok. Your spirits certainly sound up, and that's awesome.
I hope the recuperation goes smoothly, and that you eat something yummy. :)

Rest and take good care of yourself. Eat little bits at a time and enjoy each bite.
