My scans were clear today! No evidence of disease! My surgeon seemed almost disappointed in a way since I'm not taking the traditional route of sternotomy and the removal of my thymus and all surrounding tissue. After the thymoma was removed thorascopically and showed only microinvasion of the capsule I made the decision to forego further surgery (and it's major) and take the watchful waiting approach. It just feels right for me.

In 4 months I have another chest CT for follow up, but right now I'm tremendously relieved to get through this and to hear of flaming youth's good report from today.

Thank you all for your good vibes, wishes and prayers. I know you helped me through this and I send you my love and gratitude.

You have to do what you feel is right for you. That *is* a very major surgery, and since they're checking in another four months, it sounds like you're in good, watchful hands.

I feel very good. I'm having another inflation next week for reconstruction which is going very, very well. I see a neurologist next week as well to be screened for myasthenia gravis which shows up in about 1/3 of those with thymoma.
