3. "Easy, Tiger..." She's fantastic. Don't know how she doesn't just lose it, being book-ended |
|
by two condescending egotists from both ends of the political spectrum.

6. All the hell they need to do... |
|
...is play the asinine comments of these ridge-runnin' peckerwoods over and over again and the rest of the country will 'get it' as to why a West Virginia went the way it did and why a Kentucky will do the same. Folks, KY may have technically been a border state, but racial prejudice runs deep 'down in that old Kentucky home'. Guarantee if they interview those folks leading up to, during and after the vote, it'll be patently obvious what's going on.
I've been thinking lately that instead of running scared of whether or not the country will elect a black man to the Presidency - regardless if he's imminently qualified - we need to indeed make it a referendum on whether or not this country has been living a lie for 230-plus years. I think if we start to say to the American people that if you're willing to go into that booth and cast a ballot against a man just because you happen to dislike a portion of his genetic makeup, then you might as well tear up the Constitution, burn all the Presidential portraits hanging in the White House and declare this great experiment in a Constitutional Republic 'over' - or as these people would say, 'Call in the dogs and piss on the fire'. I think we need to 'shame' people into it. So long as the prejudiced-wing of the American constituency believes that it's 'ok' to openly show that prejudice, they'll keep looking for excuses to do so - he's not experienced enough...we don't know enough about him...he's Muslim, ain't he?...he's one of them 'elitists'...etc. Make 'em stand up for their beliefs, not hide behind spin words. So you don't carry the South - you won't anyway. But you'll win the rest of the country and that'll be more than enough.

"Lawrence, I'm going to have to follow you home tonight to finish my point!"
Hilarious.
Lawrence was talking over everyone, not just Rachel, and they were all laughing about it at various times in the background. If anything, that a group of diverse people with different views could all get together and laugh at irrationality was refreshing, not annoying.

but she handled it brilliantly. It's gotta be hard being the smartest one in the room . . . . :applause:
What time was this on, anyway? And they had a band? This was just weird.

I think there is sexism and racism and ageism and elitism and anti-intellectualism and many other isms, aplenty, in all of us and throughout all aspects of the campaign. The question is: how does one handle it?
