5. WILLING to talk God??

Almost every major US politician is desperately slavering to inject God and refernces to him in every single speech and debate, because thinking that humans, especially American ones, are the shining pinnacle and special concern of all things created by a perfect omnipotence is "just humble down-home thinkin' and common sense".

Few will ever go near real science beyond the most banal platitudes because using a proven system of understanding our world as it really is is "arrogant, elitist commie nonsense".

have been dumbed down due at least in some part to the television or entertainment industry....

It's not just the sciences that needs more focus and input from scholars = it's also the humanities...I don't like the elevation of science over the humanities...both are equally important.

First, so many (conservative, I'm talking about you) don't understand it, so it's easier to talk about God, as no one can prove them wrong...although no one can prove them right.

It comes down to fear. Ultimitely people fear death. They embrace God. It's the ultimate feeding on fear situation. You think Al Quaida scares people? Death trumps all fears.

Hence, God talk rules.
