The Occupy Nashville protest is rather distinctive as these protesters have actually gathered in Nashville on the Tennessee Legislative Plaza (on the grounds of the Tennessee State Capitol) in order to peacefully assemble and to petition government for grievances...Lt.Governor Ron Ramsey is now suggesting that our U.S. Constitution and Tennessee State Constitution rights somehow only apply Monday through Friday during normal business hours.

Check out Ramsey responding to the question "Did you ask the Governor to remove the Occupy protesters?" --- Ramsey very quickly looks down to his left, while conceding that the Boy Scouts of America would not allow him to take a group of Boy Scouts for a weekend camp out on the Tennessee Legislative Plaza.

1. Yeah, there's a town board member here that thinks his word trumps the Constitution, too...
... damn these people have high opinions of themselves.

2. Thank God Tennesseans have a LT Governor who understands that constitutional rights apply only when
convenient to the pols being inconvenienced: or what a jerk-head. :patriot:

3. I live in TN, at first OWS protestors were being violently arrested
until a Federal magistrate put a stop to it. Our local FOX affiliate "spun" it in such a way as to make people believe that our (R) Governor (who happened to order the protestors arrests) was responsible for stopping the arrests. My 75 y.o. Mother believed it and I am certain that many other Tennesseans believed it too.

Again, if THE FAIRNESS DOCTRINE were in effect, things would be so much simpler. I understand that President Obama had all evidence that the Fairness Doctrine was ever an FCC rule, erased. That is sad. We can hold our nose and vote again. The older I get, the more I tend to believe the saying, "If voting actually made a difference, it would be illegal." I am just afraid to find out. We already have too many problems.

5. I don't ever remember reading that in the first amendment.
If the 99% had a voice like the 1% has in government decision
making they wouldn't be protesting.

6. What an ass-hat!
I guess the founding fathers were trying to economize on ink when they opted not to add that free speech only applied during "business hours". I would ask just where these bozos were in school, but I think the truth is that they didn't even go.
