2. When petty laws deny constitutional rights, who decides in the field |
|
what to do? Where is the training to uphold the ultimate law of the land? These police officers have not been given the knowledge to recognize peaceful protest. They must be held to correctional accountability.

3. Didn't Hoover roust a bunch of veterans when they were exercising their |
|
constitutional rights?
The "Bonus March" ... killed a bunch of veterans ...
Yeah, that millionaire (back at the time when people had, literally, nothing, and the tax tables were more "confiscatory" than these TP weenies ever had to face ...) would have been exonerated in today's "liberally-biased media" ...

4. This is one of the most scary events I have seen. The police were |
|
acting like brown shirts - hiding their identity and and who they were working for. They are the biggest proof regarding how far away from the constitution we have moved.

6. Thankfully the cameras were not turned off |
|
I can only imagine what these police would have done to these courageous individuals, if they had turned off their cameras.
They behaved as though they were showing great restraint by "asking nicely."
Guns are not their only weapons. Intimidating citizens is another.

5. I liked what the young man was saying. |
|
He told "them" that the vast majority of those controlling this country are criminals. He couldn't be more correct.

On July 28,1933 U.S. Attorney General William D. Mitchell ordered the veterans removed from all government property. Washington police met with resistance, shots were fired and two veterans were wounded and later died. President Herbert Hoover then ordered the army to clear the veterans' campsite. Army Chief of Staff General Douglas MacArthur commanded the infantry and cavalry supported by six tanks. The Bonus Army marchers with their wives and children were driven out, and their shelters and belongings burned.

8. this VA land/facility does have an emergency area-this is |
|
on the westside of LA, near Brentwood and the land is gigantic on both sides of wilshire blvd.--it is federal land (that means owned by U.S.-the people paid and continue to pay for it w/taxes). Tom Hayden and others have been pushing to open up this land for better use, much of it is not used by the vets themselves.

10. What a disgusting overreach |
|
Of course, the cops can rest confident that no superior force is gonna show up and enforce the constitution over their BS. Whatever such federal forces there might be to do such are busy chasing drug shipments and farm workers - we all KNOW what a danger those two elements are!
Just AMAZING! Being flushed on VETERANS DAY from a federal plot called "Veterans Park"!!! I wanna :puke:

He was just this far from being arrested and he did not back down one whit. He did a great job.

17. THAT'S the kind of "regular citizen" we need in our congress |
|
Absolutely stalwart in the face of intimidation when he KNEW he was in the right with his actions. I can think of THREE congresspersons who have that sorta moxie, and sadly, one of them got tripped up with some lewd photos.

11. The land was donated specifically for use by veterans |
|
As the property became very valuable over the years, developers have tried to get their hands on it. Corporations have succeeded in leasing parts of it, while veterans have struggled to fight for more facilities for homeless vets there.
The VA hospital at the site is where I go for care that's not available at the Sepulveda VA hospital. (After the Northridge quake, Sepulveda was rebuilt with day clinics only, and some of those have been cut back or eliminated.)
Veterans and their supporters hold demonstrations at the Westwood property every Sunday.
Thanks for posting this, Beth. K&R.

14. what is the answer to his question of the police? |
|
how is their oath phrased? I loved what he said to the policeman who said he was a veteran...against enemies foreign and domestic and that we are faced with enemies from within..do the police have a similar oath?

I think China did something Similar in 1989 in Tienanmen Square with tanks, best estimates several hundred to thousands of their own citizens were killed by their own government. There was widespread international condemnation of the government's use of force against the protesters. But no physical action as you would expect...
We have to start killing many more of our protesters before China looks upon the U.S. with respect again...
