Does anyone else think Adrian Monk is |
|
Aspie?
I do, not because of his phobias but primarily due to his social inadequacies. Stuff others understand such as in the episode where Natalie's brother is getting married. In this episode Natalie's brother is getting married, her future sister in law had a bachelorette party where there was a male stripper dressed as a cop. A murder takes place at the hotel they are staying at and Monk thinks this guy is a real cop and just doesn't get it.

One of the reasons why we love to watch the show...Our 9 yr-old son is an Aspie, and he likes it too!
I remember an episode a few years ago where Monk had to go through security at an airport. A guard was frisking him and asked him to "turn around"--and Monk, taking this literally, turned all the way around in a complete 360. Our son used to do that too until he figured out that "turn around" really means "turn halfway around."
If you google "Monk" and "Asperger's" you'll get quite a few links.

my son is very disturbed by the show...I think Adrian's discomfort in some situation reminds him of his problems at school.
