Republicans are still crying foul because this wasn't done out in the open and that they were not included after almost a year of debate, two bills already passed and now more open debate, amendments (from both sides) and soon passage of a series of reconciliation bills.

7. Out in the open, like their reasons for war? |
|
Out in the open like all the information pointing to Iraq not having weapons of mass destruction? That kind of Republican openness? Their hypocrisy in attempting to prevent one dime of tax money, what they consider their war for oil and weapons makers funds, going to help the people of this country is so sickening that if we actually had a functional press it would disgust people.

4. Conflicting sources ... |
|
The source of 216 is John Larson, the Democratic caucus chairman. I tend to believe he is probably in the best position to know at this point.
The other sources are Stupak, who wants things, and someone else I can't remember at the moment.
Also, don't forget that the networks have their own interest in keeping the drama high.

...and the latest, apparently Stupak is going to vote "Yes," so I guess he got what he wanted ... probably the executive order language he was looking for.

And, I don't see how it could affect the reallity of the Bill any differently.

It's just something Stupak will be able to take to his district during election time ... or his priest, whichever.
Any executive order he gets will be nothing more than a redundancy.

5. Just got up, looking for news |
|
I should have known to come here first.
Thanks!
I turned on C-Span and Virginia Foxx was blathering about how terrible Democrats were to pass a bill that they admitted was awful. How does one get to be so hatefully stupid.

11. Covering Rules Committee |

I think it was a replay of something yesterday. Just not pleasant when you haven't even had your first cup yet.
Then they went to call-ins, god it's scary to think these stupid fuckers drive on the same roads I do. Especially the ones who don't want reform because it might mess up their Medicare or Medicaid.
I just heard Stupak is a yes.

I watched part of a repeat of that last night. UGH. The 4 GOP kept reading their ammendments and calling for a vote. When they lost the voice vote they called for an individual vote. This went on and on and on and on.
They were repeatedly told that they could NOT put ammendments in the Senate bill because then it would have to go back to the Senate and be filibustered. Didn't matter.
