"Members of Congress Receiving Death Threats; Congresswoman Blames Sarah Palin's 'Rhetoric'" |
|
<snip> "Rep. Louise Slaughter (D-N.Y.) said Wednesday that she had reported two "alarming" incidents to the FBI since Sunday -- one at her district office, where a brick was thrown though a window, and another at her campaign offices, where a caller left voice mail referencing snipers.
Slaughter pointed to Sarah Palin specifically for "fanning the flames with coded rhetoric" against Democrats. After the health care bill passed, Palin wrote on her Twitter account, "Commonsense Conservatives and Lovers of America: Don't retreat. Instead RELOAD!"
Rep. Steve Israel (D-N.Y.) angrily tweeted back to Palin Wednesday, "Reload? Is your choice of words inciteful or ignorant?" ***
Rep. Bart Stupak, a pro-life Democrat from Michigan, said Sunday that his wife had received threatening phone calls at the family's home in Michigan throughout the health care debate. CBS News reported that one message left for Stupak said, "I hope you die." <more> http://www.politicsdaily.com/2010/03/25/members-of-congress-receivng-death-threats-congresswoman-cites***Perfect!

1. I am SO glad someone said this. |
|
Sarah Palin started the name-calling and nastiness. The idiots showing up at her rallies carried disgusting signs, and neither she nor McCain dressed them down for it. Her nasty rhetoric and their silence about the poor behavior of their crowds merely encouraged this stuff.
And it has continued since then and it has grown, with the help of the Becks and Limbaughs of the world.

book.
I'm so relieved that this vilence incitement from palin is being called out by our leaders too. I especially like this quote from Steve Israel of NY.
"Rep. Steve Israel (D-N.Y.) angrily tweeted back to Palin Wednesday, "Reload? Is your choice of words inciteful or ignorant?"
