It was pretty innocuous, or so I thought. Silly me. I went and posted a bit on GD about sharing some info about some new health care options with some people who needed a bit of good news. You'd think I'd posted a story about poking the eyes out of kittens.
Dad used to just shake his head at me and mutter, "Some people live and learn. Others just live."
Oh, well. My ignore list was getting pretty thin.

| 10. I saw that thread. I almost posted in it |
|
"it's terribly ironic to me that the exact same misdirected, 2nd grade behavior that the President, Van Jones, and everyone with more than 8 minutes of political and life experience has been talking about is being exhibited BEAUTIFULLY in this ridiculous thread."
but then I just found something better to do.

seems to come from just a handful...the same ones over and over with the same complaint over and over. Those naysyers never actually doing anything to change the situation, just continue complaning.
I have my 85 year old dad staying with me for a couple of months. He is doing the very same thing. Not so much politically, but life in general. The negativity and complaning abounds. I try and lord knows my patience is wearing thin, but I've come to realize in his case he honestly doesn't even realize he's doing it. I asked him one time why he compains about EVERTHING. He thought about it and stated simply that he's not a happy man, he doesn't want to change things, it's his comfort zone, and it's easier knowing that others may also not be happy if he points out to them all the reasons not to be happy. The old adage misery loves company comes to mind. When loooking at the GD............I wonder.....?

whenever I came across some good or positive news my immediate reaction was to post that info on one of the main DU forums. Not anymore. If you post anything favorable about this administration on DU it is immediately met with hostility and a frenzy of unrecommendations, so it seems pointless to post anything positive on the two big forums anymore. Once in a blue moon I might still post something that should make people happy but usually I tell myself why bother.....it's akin to posting something good about this administration on Free Republic, you get the same exact reaction.

It seems like being a Democrat puts you on the enemies list I Skinnerland. Who would have thought a place called Democratic Underground would end up being a place where Democrats are treated with such open and obvious hostility.

my little whine and sheesh party. I hate it when I let myself get sucked into the non-productivity of responding to nastiness. There's been way too much of that in my neighborhood lately, and it's not going to let up for a while. (Anybody been following the Ken "I don't wear high heels" Buck story out of Colorado? He's my DA, if that helps explain how things are going around here.)
Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for the respite. The hugs and the pat on the head are greatly appreciated.
