I can't take it anymore, where is everyone going for some sanity?

I've always considered myself a lefty and a Democrat. I've been here through all the fights on DU (Nader?) but now I feel so outnumbered. The front page is nothing but threads bashing Obama with a few hundred recommends. I know that the vast majority of Dems still support Obama so I can't help but think DU is not representative.

Where do we go? (I'm sure this will get locked for some rule I have broken like saying something bad about DU posters but I would really like to know, as a long time supporter of this site, how others feel and where they are going.)

(BTW, for sanity I go to Balloon-juice and the Daily Dish which interestingly enough are bloggers who were Republicans until they saw the light under Bush and switched.)

took a short trip to meet up with great high school friend I hadn't seen in 25+ years, which was a great respite, and returned to an IRS DEMAND LETTER!!!

And awaiting 'new' The West Wing from netflix, so may have to drink or smoke something.

I had never heard of blackwaterdog until Glenn Greenwald called him a Nazi propagandist. I'm so pissed at Greenwald lately I immediately went to the site.

I used to get pissed when ppl said there were extremists on both sides. I'm seeing it now.

And what pisses me off the most is how completely pisses off my black friends are at the dems right now. I really think it was NOT the time to go after Rangel and Waters especially when the Rangel charges seemed so "meh" to me. He didn't profit. Why is it that asshole felon Oliver North is a fucking hero in this country?

Sorry, bad rant day for me. What the party is doing to Obama makes me sick and by party, I mean OUR party.

It's just a message board. No need to stress over it. If you support this president and this administration, then say it loud and proud. Sure, there's going to be people who disagree, and may be nasty in doing so, but that's going to happen on a message board.

5. trust me, I don't take it seriously but it used to be more balanced

I've been here through all the battles. It got ugly over Nader and the primary was sort of bloody but there seemed to be more ppl on my side. Now I feel alienated here if I try to say "we should try to be reasonable in our attacks on Obama".

I just don't find it a friendly place anymore.

7. DU is not representative of Dems in general.

I don't think it ever was but I don't think that's a bad thing. I enjoy reading posts that put forth a different point of view and if one over looks the flagrant, there are a number that are well thought out and written. Heck, I've given recs to several even if I didn't agree with almost all or any of the points being made.

And you may consider that you are fighting a battle of volume (noise) rather then actual numbers. There's been some polls here at DU where the results rather surprised me given the tone of what appears to be so many of the threads.
