Here is a most salient reason to NEVER vote for McCain |
|
http://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/election2008/2008-05-06-mccain-judges_N.htmMcCain: Roberts, Alito are model judges WASHINGTON — Supreme Court justices John Roberts and Samuel Alito are the models for the type of judges Republican John McCain said Tuesday he would appoint to the federal bench if elected president. Roberts, the chief justice, and Alito were President Bush's two appointees to the high court and represent "the proper role of the judiciary" that McCain said will be a major issue this fall ...

IMO, we lack good candidates on our side, not good reasons not to vote for the opposition.

9. I'll be busy holding my breath while they turn all of this madness around |
|
Oh, wait. That would make me an idiot, since they support the madness.

4. I have a better reason: he's a Republican. |

The SCOTUS, and much, much more, follows from that.

14. So, Perry, would you tell me how that statement is |
|
different than calling anyone who disagrees with Pres. Bush un-patriotic?
Who would they be a traitor against? The USA? The democratic party? Or you?
Somehow, I think, to clean up the mess we find ourselves in today, we will have to get support from both democrats and republicans. Unless I hear a different message from Obama, that is what he is saying also. His greatest achievement could passably be in leading two parties into a place where it would be America first instead of political parties first.
We didn't get into this mess in Washington with just Dub-ya. It has taken Reagan, Bush, Clinton and Dub-ya (also a whole lot of self-serving senators and congressmen from both sides of the isle.)
Hopefully, Obama will lead this nation (both Democrat and Republican)into seeing that the only hope we have is in uniting and taking on the problems we face together. Maybe Obama can show the wisdom of making the first priority on our solving these desperate problems instead of Corporate rule and the politicians re-election first.
Perry, I wish you peace and prosperity :)

11. I think the party will come together, now, even if Hillary stays in |
|
I'm a Hillary supporter, but I like Obama. He'll make a good president, I just thought she was a better pick this time around.
He should pick Richardson or Edwards as his running mate, though. He needs a southern, white male on the ticket.

13. Judging from recent state polls, he may have little trouble gettting in legally. |
|
Hillary will not leave, which still prevents Obama from launching a true general campaign

I could have sworn that I heard him say the same thing a few months back, but that the new justices would be in the mold of Thomas and Scalia. Now, most anyone who has been paying attention knows that both of those are grade-A assholes, but have they now been rendered radioactive somehow?
