I used to be against the bailout for big auto |
|
I was against it because the execs at GM, Ford, Chrysler were so full of hubris that they demanded the bailout.
I was against it because those companies were mismanaged into the ground
I was against it because despite the MANY concessions the UAW made, management didn't make a single one. No pay cuts for the X-level, no benefit cuts.
But I am against the Bank bailouts more...and with fair being fair - if we can afford the hundreds of billions for our (and some international) banks, why not a bailout for them?
As bad as they are run, it couldn't be a bigger waste than, say 70B to AIG...

1. The auto makers have never asked for a 'bailout'. They asked for a bridge loan. |

3. Whatever, I'm for it now |

What's $20B when we're giving out cash to the banks like there's no tomorrow?
At least we can collect tax revenue later on from the auto industry

The stink of hypocrisy is hard to mask.
