Getting away with it...Stephanopolis and Gregory both give Geitner a pass on contracts |
|
On both This Week and MTP, the respective hosts feigned outrage of their own and demanded Treasury Secy Geitner answer them as to why he wasn't outraged way back when, when he first learned of the AIG bonuses. On both propaganda fests, Geitner offered nearly an identical scripted answer: There were contracts in place, and if people thought the government could just come in and force companies to re-write contracts, businesses would lose confidence in the system.
And now for the hard-hitting follow--up questions from Messrs. Gregory and Stephanopolis, where they press Geitner on the difference between such contracts and UNION contracts, which the government DID step in and force to be broken...waiting...waiting...
Oops. of course neither message facilitator asked any such question. Both men just moved on, as if Geitner had somehow offered an actual satisfactory answer.

1. Geithner did a BEAUTIFUL job. I was impressed with his detailed answers. |
|
Very few follow-up questions mainly because neither Gregory nor Steph seemed to fully understand the brilliant answers Tim was giving. My opinion.

I'm not going to give anyone in this administration a pass just because I voted for Obama. This stinks, and we all know that if it was a Bush administration official up there feeding us this bs there's be a hundred posts about it by now.
