Tipping point... I think we have finally reached it |
|
time will tell.
But I am positive things will get very interesting over the next few days... and if the WH has ANY brains they will realize where to go from this. If they don't... history will be damn interesting and very soon.
Oh and yes the dynamics in DC just changed... and time will tell.
This is a slap in the face for the IMPERIAL PRESIDENCY... PERIOD!

3. I called Boxer, haven't gotten to Feingold yet, and got right through |
|
They said she has not yet issued a statement on whether she will be joining Bernie Sanders or not yet. And they have had a 'few' calls so far.

2. Not sure that it is. They will pass the Bush tax cuts, or did I miss |
|
miss something? Seriously, that's all that matters and if they do, nothing has changed, except they might throw a few more little crumbs our way which they were probably holding, and had agreed upon if things got a little rough anyhow. But if the Tax Cuts for the Wealthy pass, then they won, again.
The rest is just theater, the usual pretend fight before the final victory for the wealthy. It got old during the Bush administration, actually. And nothing has changed that I can see.
If they stop the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy, then I will agree.

11. If the tax cuts pass, how is that a challenge to the imperial presidency |
|
It will mean the wealthy got what they wanted out of this presidency. As they have all along, with the bailouts, the Health Care bill and now this.
Next, will be SS and they will win again.
I have called and registered my disgust with this, but we did that back in the Bush years and I am not feeling anything different in the responses I'm getting now from Democrats, than I did then. I don't hear 'watch what we are about to do. We are going to fight for YOUR interests'. It's the same old vascilation 'she hasn't issued a statement yet'. What does that say? Boxer is not standing beside Bernie Sanders and 'she hasn't issued a statement yet'. That is so familiar, from the Bush years.
We have not won one important battle in over ten years. I am glad you are seeing positive signs, but I just can't see them and as for us, they don't care about us until we start to get some power.
Right now this government is about to charge a news media with espionage. Lieberman is talking about investigating the NYT. This I would have expected from the Bush gang. So, help me please, how are things getting better? I want to believe that.

12. We might lose the battle but the war is still on |
|
I guess I have a far longer view of history than this week... but that is a profesional thing...
This is the first time ANY sitting president has gotten this kind of a rebuke from his own party in a LONG TIME... like GENERATIONS here.

5. Could you be a tad more specific? |
|
"things will get very interesting" and "history will be damn interesting and very soon" don't say a lot.

7. Nah, when the Republicans win the WH from us, they will |
|
use the presidency the same way Dick Cheney and W did--as though it bestows dictatorial powers on the one who holds it.
