:hi: all
I haven't ridden in the rain much this summer mostly because we had 2 months straight of VIOLENT T-Storms.
This afternoon, I came home in the rain. No biggie, that is why I purchased rain gear ;)
Now, the bike is wet and hot in the driveway and the rain is going to stay around through Thursday morning (downpours again).
Soooo
At what point does the rust start on chrome? I'll probably ride Thursday and Friday to the office but won't be able to give it a good wash until Saturday or Sunday. Is the water going to invade? If so, what to do?
If not, what to do?

"Garage queens." :D
I kid. No, don't worry. Rain on chrome = rain spots, at worst, which can be wiped off. If your chrome is nicked through to the metal, rust might start there, but I think you're fundamentally OK.

Tarps and other plastic covers are evil and hate motorcycles with all of the petroleum-based hearts. That's what I've been told for years by people who are more careful than I am. They tell me that the things scratch bike's paint and chrome, they tell me that rust flourishes under a tarp. My younger sister is one of those people and when she talks motorcycle I listen. I do not know if they do more good than harm myself but both of our bikes spend their summers in the open, uncomvered, rain or shine. During the winters they go to my son's garage.
