| Getting close to that Gold WIng |
|
I've been putting off getting a good long distance two-up touring bike because I'm not willing to part with my Roadstar to do it. After a significant health scare, I've come to the conclusion that life is too short to keep putting some things off.
The deals seem to be getting better and better. Think I'll take a serious look in January when I get back in country.
Anyone here with experience on the later model Wings (2002 and later)? I haven't decided on new or gently used yet. There are a lot for sale out there, but I'm not familiar with what idiosyncrasies associated with the different model years.

I'm no where NEAR good enough for that much bike but I hope to get there someday. I dream about me and the Mrs someday hopping on one for a cross country trip.
I'll get there (hopefully)
PLEASE keep us posted!

so I don't know too much about the Wings, other than that is all my father will ride. But I can say no matter what bike you buy these days, you are going to find some GREAT deals. With the economy the way it is, people are desperate to unload their toys.

as long as you have the newest frame (it has been out for a while now) which affords the best handling the rest is about features, e.g. abs, etc. I do not own one but have ridden several over the past 20 years. Great bikes, a bit heavy around town for my tastes but nothing compares on the highway imho. HD has one touring model with a fixed fairing which ain't bad but the Wing is far more comfortable.

| 4. They redesigned it in 01 |

Shaved a lot of weight off of it and improved the handling (as well as the appearance IMO). Generally, if you go with 03 or later you avoid any frame recall issues and should wind up with a good bike.
The prices seem to be coming down for both new and used, so I'm just watching for the best deal.
