Bet that raised an eyebrow or two! He he.
Nah, I'm stuck with my 1990 Harley Super Glide. It has 40,000 mi on it now, but it still looks almost new! Never laid it down, always garage kept and covered. I spend more time polishing it than riding it these days. Broke my leg on it two yrs ago in a freak accident. The only damage was my tibia....put down a foot in an attempt to stabilize on gravel, and whaaaaap!
Did take a 180 mi trip on it last weekend. Nice weather and everything is blooming in southern Oklahoma! The guys I ride with have older Harleys, too, except the gal that went us rides a 04 Sporty.
I'm not a die hard Harley guy. I've had other bikes and I really like a lot of the new bikes on the market today. I just thought I would give HArley a try. I wanted a bike that wasn't too big and handled well. I know a harley mechanic, and he said what I wanted was an FXR, a favorite of motorcycle cops. It's been a great bike.

| 1. I think Harley makes a great bike, but I've never owned one |

Every time I buy a bike, I go through the "Harley debate." Every time, I decide I don't want to pay a premium just for the brand name, when there are so many other good bikes out there (I have an '00 Roadie now).
I realize this is probably short term thinking, as Harleys generally have better resale prices.

I was looking at one when I bought my sportster, but had to be realistic about the monthly payment, and I have really always liked sportsters, lightweight and torquey.
Your friend isn't kidding about the FXR, that is a sought after bike for the aforementioned reasons.
