Harley profit drops 84%; Buell shut down

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Harley-Davidson Inc. shares shrugged off early declines Thursday after the motorcycle giant reported a steep drop in third-quarter profit and said it will discontinue production of its Buell sport-bike brand.

I was intrigued by what they did with respect to engineering. They'll now become cult classics.

Their latest ad campaign was a real dog, though. It just about said that Buell riders were too self-absorbed to do the wave.

2. my wife and I visited the Harley factory in KCMo last week - the Sportster line has been shut down

bleak - it will take quite a while before spending on these items takes off again

Buell is taking $5k off the price of the 1125. I wish they'd do that with the XT. I'd buy one tomorrow.
