| A pathetic, "wtf are you thinking" argument for parental notification |
|
Edited on Sun Nov-02-08 09:44 PM by bliss_eternal
I really don't know what to say about this, other than :wtf:
Just read a statement that if a teen needs permission to stay out after curfew, they should need permission to get an abortion. :crazy: I'm sorry. I just don't even know how to address such blatant stupidity and lack of critical thinking skills.
So let me get this straight:
Staying out past curfew, without parental consent vs. being forced to give birth under any circumstance, whatsoever....even in cases of molestation or incest.
Staying out past curfew vs. having to get parental permission to make a choice. A choice a parent or guardian may disagree w/based on their personal beliefs, etc.
Staying out past curfew vs. treating a young woman's body, reproductive responsibilities, and sexuality as somehow separate from her, and an extension/responsibility of parents.
Staying out past curfew (a choice for a night)vs. parental notification--a choice that affects a lifetime.
Wow. Just friggin' wow--that anyone could compare the two on any level whatsoever, and think that they are the absolute same thing.
:crazy::(

| 2. These zealots are like small children... |

...hell bent on getting their way. They pretend to not hear when we say no, and just find another way to phrase it, and ask again......and again.....and again....like little kids, just trying to wear us down. It's immature and beyond insulting.
I agree that there has GOT to be some better use of that money. Instead of focusing on all the potential teen fetuses, why not focus on the homeless teens that are already here---that could use time, attention, shelter, love, etc.? What about that?
The state should have some sort of statute that says we're not going to re-vote on crap that's already been voted on....oh....TWO OR THREE TIMES BEFORE. :eyes:
