Folklore question: Pananunda

Has anyone ever heard of this African American folklore figure? I'm amazed that google searches turn up nothing. Maybe I'm spelling it incorrectly.

When I was a child, my southern born father and other southern relatives told stories about a foolish child named Pananunda. If you have heard of these stories or know of a link to a folklore site that discusses these stories, I would appreciate it if you could post it here.
