fire home remedy to whiten teeth? I cannot afford the $400 for the dentist to do it and I am told that the over-the-counter units just do not work.
Anyone tried one that is effective? I would just like to freshen up these old choppers. How about the cost?
I understand that the basic ingredient is Peroxide, true? If that is the case, why are they so expensive?

Brush your teeth with a mixture of 1 tbsp. baking soda and 1/2 tbsp. hydrogen peroxide solution daily. Avoid foods that stain such as coffee and tea. Don't smoke. I don't think there's much more you can do without the assistance of your dentist.

| 3. If you use baking soda, just make sure you don't brush too hard. |

I tend to do that with regular toothpaste, and end up with my teeth getting sensitive and I had to get the dentist to paint them with some kind of varnish or something.
Mine could do with some whitening, too, though.

| 4. My husband has had good luck with the Crest white strips. |

They are not as easy to use as the bleaching trays that I have, but if he uses them for several days in a row, they do work. I can't recall how much they cost, though.
I was fortunate to work for a company whose dental plan covered getting bleaching trays. Unbelievable, huh?
