No eBay insertion fees for September!!!! |
|
Just received an email from them. Between the Bush economy and the increase in postage rates, I only sold one out of eleven items listed back in July and haven't listed anything since. I'm hearing similar stories from others.

1. wow, that is a bad sales percentage |
|
When I started in eBay, my sales were 80 percent of listings. That was like a money tree. Eighty percent sold within a week, and the bids were good. I remember watching the first sale ratchet up, up, up, way beyond what I had imagined.
Maybe if eBay got rid of the mega-sellers of new items, there would be more real customers, as it used to be.

4. Man those were the days weren't they. You could sell a rat on a stick. |
|
Well, maybe not. It was so much fun to watch those bids go up and up. I sold things back in 98 that I couldn't get much if anything for right now. I am going to wait and put a bunch of stuff on this weekend. I think I should do fine with these lots. We will see.

2. Maybe I'll list some stuff. I've been storing my tag sale finds all summer |
|
long to sell on ebay in the winter when prices are usually better. I agree with the previous poster about all the new stuff on ebay. It's especially annoying when you click on something that doesn't indicate in the title it's a reproduction or knock-off. Ebay doesn't do a very good job getting rid of fraudulent stuff, either, even when you notify them. Beware of Braun electric toothbrush refills on ebay - they fall apart.

You have to buy Gallery, and that's not free. You pretty much need it these days regardless, but still. Also anything you start over $9.99 is still charged insertion fees, albeit at a discount. They've had quite a few listing sales lately, but it's been a very long time since they've had a truly totally free listing day.

15 auctions - only 6 items sold. Ebay made a lot off of me anyway.
I bought an item too.
Sent the money and never heard a word after two weeks. No replies to emails or inquires after the money was sent.
Tried to call - nothing but a wireless clone of a phone.
Had to file a dispute.
Just got an angry telephone call; screaming etc.
Ebay is not what it once was.
ARE THERE ANY ALTERNATIVES FOLKS?
:(

7. I returned to ebay after being gone all summer. |
|
The first week, everything sold. Last week only half the stuff sold. This week is only producing really dumb questions so far.:banghead:
