| January insertion fee sale. |
|
A heads-up on eBay's current sale: half-off insertion fees for 1- and 3-day auction listings for the whole month of January. I always try to take advantage of the sales, since the fees are murder these days, but I've never used the 1-day listing and feel that even the 3-day is kind-of short for an auction item. Has anyone had success with these?
There are criteria on getting the sale price, of course ... DSR's of 4.5 or higher in all categories (or if you're a new seller without DSRs yet, you're apparently still eligible), and certain categories excluded: collectibles, media (books, music, movies, DVDs, video games), eBay Motors, real estate, business and industrial equipment.
The exclusion of collectibles and media items is what bums me out. But, will make do.

...looks like a good thing for sellers, until you look more closely. Why exclude collectibles and media?
Not crazy about 1 or 3 day listings anyway. They do work, but my experience has been that you sell it for less than you would if you went the full 7 days.
So what's the point? Only helpful if you are truly in a hurry imho.

| 2. I've had success with it. |

But I mostly sell kids' gently worn clothing. I'm just selling our outgrown stuff faster.
