| What's with half.com buyers these days? |
|
Anyone else sell on half.com? I do quite a bit ... I go to the local Planned Parenthood book sale every November and get bags and bags of books for $5 a bag. Some of those books are for myself, of course, but most get listed on half.com. Some go in a "to read" box, which I intend to read before they sell. Sometimes I'll sell a book that's in the to-read box which I haven't read yet, and then I hurry to read it in a day or so before I put it in the mail.
Anyway, in the last week I've had no less than three half.com buyers with zero feedback (half.com is a branch of eBay, for those who aren't familiar with it, and feedback from both sites is combined) who purchased a book from me, and then almost immediately became non-registered users. I discovered this when I tried to leave them feedback, and couldn't. I have their mailing addresses, so don't see any real reason not to send them the book, as long as I still get paid for it - but anyone know if I do in fact get paid for the book? Supposedly a buyer's credit card is charged right away when they purchase an item, so at the time of purchase they had to have been registered.
I've sent an e-mail to customer support with this question, but don't know how soon they'll get back to me. I just wonder if this "purchase and then close one's account" is some kind of new scam strategy.
