I've used paypal for eight years or so, with no problems.
So here's this new odd thing. I'm in a business partnership -- a startup that's internet based. We billed our first client via a Paypal invoice. The client lives and does business in Canada. She did not have a Paypal account, although she expressed very negative feelings toward Paypal.
She said she would have to open an account on a U.S. bank in order to verify the Paypal membership. (I don't think she even needed to be a Paypal member to pay an invoice, according to Paypal. She just needed to pay with a debit or credit card.
Okay, so ten days later she says she still can't make it work. We called Paypal, and they sent her instructions to call her bank to straighten it out. They said the bank is denying the use of the debit card for this transaction.
I can't seem to sort this out. Is it because the transaction is international? Is it because she has a new Paypal account AND a brand-new bank account?
Any thoughts?

with no problem. Maybe you should go to plan b and have her get a money order from the bank and mail it.
