I went to a couple of church sales Friday evening and found a couple of etchings, a couple of pieces of pottery I'm still trying to identify, a Royal Doulton cat and a couple of bits of sterling jewelry. Saturday it was pouring rain, but I went out to the one tag sale being held in a garage. It was horrible unless you're a Pottery Barn fan, so I went back to the churches for the second day of their sales and rooted around. At one I dug out a 1971 Annalee doll from under some Christmas decorations and found a couple of 1950's "peek-a-boo" ties (plain, brown neckties on the front, but with a naked lady printed on the lining . . . very, very funny . . . I told the ladies working the sale I'd tell people I got them at the other church). At the second sale they had marked down a really stunning, brand new, Iman handbag so I bought that for resale. I just missed a gorgeous weather vane they had cut the price on. The hunt continues for the Picasso.

A couple of cracker tins, always make sure they don't have bar codes on em. Some handy tools. A nice small bohemian cut class tumbler in a brass holder and a brass saucer that matched for 50 cents. Got to talking to the old fart across the street and took him some frozen perch. Then I lost my wallet. Lots of money and everything else I need to live with. Man down the street shows up with it, saw my address on the license. Said his kid saw it on the ground. Still had the $300. in it and he wouldn't take any reward. I'd call it an up and down good day.

I find Ohioans know more about ohio pottery than anyone else. Glass too. Like postcards, if you collect them from your area, you'll find them cheaper in a different state.

small commercial glass front refrigerator for pie at the restaurant. I got talking to the guy, turns out he restores neon tube type signs, the old porcelain face ones with the clear tubes. I have seen these signs with broken tubes sell cheap because very few people can fix them with clear tubing rather than the new colored tubing. He offered to fix any sign I find and we will share the profit of the sale.
