Do you believe Powersellers should be required to maintain a certain feedback rating? |
|
The reason I ask, I was looking for a particular DVD. The person who listed it was a powerseller. Their feedback rating was 96%. Under NO circumstances would I purchase ANYTHING from ANY Ebay member with that type of rating...and this month alone they had 200 negatives and 550 neutrals. Granted they had 4000 transactions, but even still... It seems that Ebay puts their "stamp of approval" on Powersellers and gives them a little more clout than the average seller, but shouldn't THAT Powerseller have to outperform someone like me? Or has Ebay just decided that quantity over quality was going to be king? I'm really perplexed by this. It isn't the first time that I have run across this.

1. that's what has ruined eBay |
|
They traded massive sales of inferior product and inferior service for higher profits, with no regard to the long term effects on sales AND profits.

2. I agree with you. I have busted my ass to maintain 100% ratings on all |
|
3 of my sites. No one should have that many negatives and neutrals and not pay some price for heavens sake. I agree too that the volume sellers are given way more leeway than the mom and pop sellers.

3. Ebay seems to be doing more stupid stuff than usual lately. |
|
The "shop victorious" slogan is idiotic. They've added even more boxes to fill out when you list stuff - putting an item on to sell is like writing "War and Peace."

4. What does that mean? I was so turned off by that campaign |
|
I did not even look into what the thought process was behind the slogan. Shop Victorious is silly.

I bought an Emile Henry baking dish from a Powerseller a few weeks ago, and it still hasn't shown up. The guy doesn't answer his emails, either.
Same kind of feedback - lots of negatives, but because he sells in volume he's still at 99.6%, He probably uses a shady dropshipper. It's starting to piss me off. You're absolutely right - Powersellers should lose the designation for a year, minimum, after a certain number (not percentage) of negative feedbacks.
