Hey, Joe did great tonight! |
|
He was wonderful.
Damn this is going to be a fun ticket to work for this fall.
And it was really nice to see ole pals Biden and Kerry up there on the stage. Damn, this is going to be fun this fall.

6. They are staking out "family values" as that will be the Democratic theme. |
|
I think that consistency is Joe's "A" game.

I LOVED Kerry's speech. I wish that I could've seen more of it (damn Crummy Noise Network...), but the second half that I saw was an out-of-the-park-and-into-three-of-McMansion's-houses hit. Every attack was dead on. The "Mission Accomplished" line made McPOW look like the uneducated moron he is.
Joe's was a great "Intro to Joe Biden" & "Intro to Obama/Biden '08". It hit two of the three things that Biden needed to do: (re)introduce himself to America and show how he can help the Dems with change in Washington. However, that third thing, ripping McLame and his record to shreds, fell a bit flat. He was quite civil (I'm starting to loathe the phrase "John McCain is my friend"...), which is fine, but he never really went too much on the offensive. Plus, Biden's style is not meant to have phrases that are repeated throughout the speech (the whole "That's not change. That's the same." line); that is perfect for Obama, but not for Biden. It was a good speech, but it wasn't Joe's best, nor did it feel like a speech Joe normally would give.

in addition to part of the speech being to scripted and not in his natural style, he was also very emotional inside and therefore more controlled on the outside and not able to "let loose".

sounds like you were already having lots of fun last night :-). Starting with Kerry's speech and going all through the end, it was almost cathartic for me. And Joe going to Kerry before the speech and than thanking him again just before he started talking... well, a kleenex moment

13. I know it was personal so it won't get any play, |
|
but my fave Biden comment was how Jill leaves him both breathless & speechless. ~sigh
I also liked the eight dreaded words, "The Vice President's office is on the phone." I LMAO at that.

14. I thought that sounded like a Biden line |
|
Wish he could have hammed it up
And as usual - it's true! Imagine all the staffers in federal govmt who'd rather talk to Joe than Cheney!
