Am I the only one that thinks Palin is going to come out of this ok? |
|
I mean, really, is it me? The repukes don't care about any of this, and are defending her, just like I thought they would. I am asking this here, because it's too hectic out there, and I want the opinion of the Bidenites.

1. I read an article where the people at the convention were thrilled with her -- |
|
and didn't give a damn about any of the questions we're raising.
Don't know what kind of site it is. (Just went to find it, and I can't). Suffice it to say they were GUSHING about her.
I think it's the hard-core Reps who will vote for whomever has the (R) behind their name, the same people who claim to think Bush is doing a bang up job, (and really, who else would attend the convention?) So I'm not sure the actual numbers of people who feel this way are a serious threat.
In answer to your question, I really don't know. I DO know I'm not convinced this is curtains for her OR McCain.

I think she is going to come out this with flying colors.
WE are doing the vetting, not the media. She is having to answer to us thru statements instead of having to answer hard questions on live tv. The republicans have their talking points on her already rolling out, and they are already playing the gender card...."Oh I find that offensive, she is a capable woman".
C'mon Obama campaign....quit being so nice.

5. also, I have a theory I keep posting that |
|
this is mostly throwing a bone to the religious right. They want to exert power over the party, and NYT and others are reporting that they were going to say NO to Ridge or Lieberman. If Romney and Pawlenty had a clue they'd have said no and want to wait for 2012 in case the economy goes further south and they can try to blame Obama.
Palin gets name exposure for future national office, and most importantly in my theory, voter turnout increases for House and Senate and state races. The fundie vote probably doesn't make a different in states that were already red, but turnout could help make sure they get more legislative seats. And we know they weren't psyched about coming out for McCain.
