Listening to a show on CERN now. This guy (who's against it) said that they won't really be firing it up, they'll be having a party and TELLING people they're going to fire it up. He said some tech stuff which was beyond me, but said it may not be until the end of October when they actually are ready to do the deed.

So if this guy is right, we have a short reprieve. :7

EDIT: I typed they'll be having a parting -- in actuality, he said they'll be having a PARTY! :party:
