That man has me in tears yet again |
|
I'm watching the CNN profile on Joe and without fail, he has reduced me to tears again. He reads a passage out of his book regarding Jill and he got choked up. Bring on the kleenex!!!
If you miss it today, it will be on again tomorrow.

One hour on Joe Biden and 55 minutes of slamming him.

2. There was lots of good stuff too |
|
I knew ahead of time that they would bring up some of the classics. He came across as very positive to me, but of course, I'm biased.

3. I'm glad you felt that way. |
|
There's alot of us pissed.
I just thought it was so negative and didn't mention all of the great things Joe has done - like VAWA, Bosnia, Mraps, crime bill..
Hearing you say that, makes me feel better:)

4. It was the one-on-one interview with Joe |
|
that overshadowed anything negative. No one could hear him talk like that and doubt his integrity or character.

5. Good observation, tsegast. That's what most people will take away from |
|
this piece -- that he's a man of integrity and character. Much of the "political stuff" -- both good and bad, for both Palin and Biden, probably barely made a blip.
We vote for the PERSON, not the issues.

6. I thought his segment was much meatier than Mooselinis |
|
For one thing, Biden looked as if he had depth. HE was being interviewed. HIS kids were interviewed, Joe is real. Failin's interview was an episode of American Idol for Fundies. :eyes:
If you watched the Sarin episode, CNN took her down too and mentioned her many scandals. I forced myself to watch it.
Joe is an amazing guy. I am so proud to have been one of his Presidential supporters last fall. :grouphug:

7. Yes, Biden's life has more meat or substance to it |
|
Palin's life was more like an ET segment, kind of fluffy and cute.

8. I had the same mental list too, pirhana! |
|
I'm mostly moved into my new apt. where I don't have internet access so I couldn't post much after the interview, but I was furious - same list of things missing from the report...
But maybe it does look better to people who weren't already familiar with the great stuff they presented.

9. thanks for making me feel better too |
|
I only listened to it (no TV, just audio stream of it last night)- and I was probably a little hypersensitive.
To really cover Joe's legislative career would take a mini-series :)

10. I've seen Joe trashed so thoroughly and unjustly |
|
her many times, so this profile was so rough. They can't just show all the feel-good stuff because they'll be accused of playing favorites. I wonder if they used some kind of balance sheet for Palin and Biden to be sure they didn't show one more favorably than another.
I did find it interesting that both of them were cited for "earmarks".
