When my daughter was in the hospital, in all the women's bathrooms was a poster saying -
if you are a victim of violence or abuse, call this hotline.

Those posters were there because of Joe Biden :loveya:

thought to - taken it for granted. But if it hadn't been for Joe...

other than thinking how great it was that info was in all the women's restrooms where women would have a moment alone to jot that number down or make the call.

Then listening to Joe talk about that number - the lightbulb went on in my head.

Until you noted that personal mental click, I hadn't realized how I haven't really been connecting the two - thinking about DV in general vs. in my own. Weird defense mechanisms. And looking at the timing on the VAWA, it came too late for our family - it was still a hush-hush embarrassing thing back then.

This kind of change is good :)
