"Biden misleads
Where is Media Exposing This Lie?"

'So, the big question here is, if the media is ready to scoff at McCain's very real incident of facing enemy fire, is that same media ready to bash Biden for pretending to face such a harrowing experience when he didn't?

What if a Republican was going about pretending his aircraft was "forced down" as if by the enemy in enemy territory? Would the media simply turn the other way at such a misleading claim on the campaign trail?

And lastly, we get a hint in this tale of the disdain... and if not disdain, then at least the discounting of the man... that others in the Senate feel for Joe Biden. Look at how John Kerry told the tale of the helicopter going down:

"The weather closed in on us," the Associated Press quoted Kerry as saying. "It went pretty blind, pretty fast and we were around some pretty dangerous ridges. So the pilot exercised his judgment that we were better off putting down there, and we all agreed."

"We were going to send Biden out to fight the Taliban with snowballs, but we didn't have to do it." he said. "Other than getting a little cold, it was fine."'

5. i honestly don't know what they're referring to -- because right when Joe
got back and mentioned it, he assured the person he was talking to it wasn't that big of a deal. He didn't try to make it sound dramatic in the least. And I heard him say that. And what, exactly, about Kerry's statement, shows disdain? :eyes:

I'm with the others - not worth the effort. People who write crap like this don't know how to listen.

11. This is really strange
(I hope it's ok for a Kerry person to comment)

Biden and the others DID face danger and the plane was forced down - and even if it were weather - it was still dangerous - as can be seen in Kerry's statement.

What is very strange is that this article shows that Biden went on a difficult oversight trip This was not a green zone photo op as many Senators take and Kerry/Hagel/Biden were a very serious team there to learn what was happening. I guess they don't get that this reflects well on the Senators. (For Kerry, it just shows that he was able to joke about it later.)

The funny thing is that they are giving this episode more attention - it got very little considering that 3 major high ranking Senators could have died. This attention is a win for Biden.

13. I agree - I turned on the radio to hear
what they were saying and they really were arguing that Biden was a liability - and that Palen was essentially a Godsend to McCain's campaign. They really do think people are stupid. They actually read Kerry's full quote - and then claimed Biden was lying (because they inferred that he meant AlQuaeda brought the plane down - Biden didn't sat that. Meanwhile they ignore that Palen really didn't go to Iraq or Ireland.)

First thing I saw this morning...

Biden says ad mocking McCain is 'terrible'

Barack Obama's running mate says a campaign ad that mocked Republican presidential candidate John McCain as an out-of-touch, out-of-date computer illiterate was "terrible" and would not have been done had he known about it.

Obama, McCain's Democratic rival, launched the ad earlier this month, part of an aggressive push to slow McCain's rise in the polls after he chose Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to be his running mate. It included unflattering footage of Sen. McCain at a hearing in the early '80s, wearing giant glasses and an out-of-style suit, interspersed with shots of a disco ball, a clunky phone, an outdated computer and a Rubik's Cube.

"He admits he still doesn't know how to use a computer, can't send an e-mail, still doesn't understand the economy, and favors $200 billion in new tax cuts for corporations, but almost nothing for the middle class," the ad says.

Asked about the negative tone of the campaign, and this ad in particular, during an interview broadcast Monday by the "CBS Evening News," Obama's running mate, Sen. Joe Biden, said he disapproved of it.

"I thought that was terrible, by the way," Biden said.
