So---
How do you feel about this?

It's all over the press.

Kinda pisses me off that he said it.

1. I'm with you.
Clear case of a time for Biden to punt to his spokesman or the campaign or just keep his mouth shut. He can't let his message discipline slip, and has to be seen as part of Obama's campaign, not independent.

2. Yep. Biden has said
two things during the campaign that he shouldn't have.
This was one.
The other was about how Hillary would have been a good vp pick.

Between you and me - I really hope Axelrod or whoever tells him to stick to message.

3. the bad thing about
the HRC comment was how easily it was taken out of context - most people, even most in the media, had no idea about the crackpot who was dissing Hillary before he said that.

4. I think Joe wants to stick to the issues.
The part about the computer, doesn't have anything to do with the issues. It was more of a personal attack on Mccrap. That's probably why he objected to it.

If he was out of line, I'm sure they will let him know.

5. I've said it before. Obama's a geriphobe. It's something Joe doesn't
agree with, I think, and he's being honest. I can respect honesty.

6. Maybe you all should read the clarification from Biden
Obama Ad
By Perry Bacon Jr.
Democratic vice-presidential nominee Sen. Joe Biden issued a statement late Tuesday attempting to clarify his comments that an ad the Obama campaign ran earlier this month was "terrible."

Biden, in an interview that aired Tuesday on CBS Evening News, had criticized an ad the Obama campaign released earlier this month that highlighted McCain's inability to use a computer, saying, "I thought that was terrible by the way" and "if I'd have had anything to do with it, we never would have done it."

The McCain campaign immediately attacked Obama, invoking Biden's words. "Barack Obama has brought the sleazy gutter politics of Chicago to our national stage, exposing his call for a 'new politics' as a lie and embarrassing even his own running mate with the low road campaign he's running," said McCain-Palin spokesman Brian Rogers in a statement.

But in the statement issued by the Obama campaign, Biden said he had never seen the ad and only read press reports of it.

"Having now reviewed the ad, it is even more clear to me that given the disgraceful tenor of Senator McCain's ads and their persistent falsehoods, his campaign is in no position to criticize," Biden said in the statement.

For Biden, whose candor and occasional verbal gaffes had worried some Democrats as he was been considered to run on the Democratic ticket, his initial criticism of the campaign ad was the first time he had formally reversed one of his comments, although he caught lots of attention for suggesting Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton might be have been a stronger vice-presidential choice.

9. When the rumors first started going around about
Biden being VP, he warned that he has always been his own boss.

Joe is who he is, and I'm sure the Obama camp was well aware of that when they chose him.

Whatever. It's done. It's out there and I'm sure Joe will be more careful in the future.

It's the first real oops.

11. It is NOTHING compared to what comes out of the mccrap campaign. nothing.
not everyone spends countless hours online like we do, so I doubt this will get much coverage at all.

7. Didn't really piss me off that he said it, but kind of made me go
"Joe, nooooo." He's used to giving his honest reaction to things, and he's done a great job about holding back -- or rephrasing to be 'campaign acceptable', but he slipped this time. I wouldn't like it if I were Obama.

I heard him say it on the clip, and it sounded as though when it was out of his mouth he realized what he'd done, and started trying to backtrack.

I'm guessing he'll hear about it. I'm sorry that happened.

And, since we're on it, do you guys think he's toned down his praise of McCain? He still gets the point across (right before he starts brutally criticizing his policies), but doesn't seem to take it as far as he was. Am I correct in that observation, or is it wishful thinking? :7

14. *cringe*
I understand why he did it, but in this current climate.....it's wise to try and not give the enemy any ammo.

Those SOBs just aren't as honorable as he is.

15. I don't see it as much of a problem and maybe even a strength that our candidates
can disagree on minor points and JRB can voice his thoughts.

Princess Yep Yep would NEVER cross McCain

We have two strong smart talented individuals who together are going to lead our country. Whoopdiedo if they don't agree on everything!
