Cafferty: Is Biden an asset or liability for Obama? |
|
FROM CNN’s Jack Cafferty:
Senator Joe Biden is never at a loss for words. That is both the good news and the bad news.
See not everything Biden says is helpful to the Democrats’ cause.
Example: He told the CBS Evening News this week that in 1929 “when the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn’t just talk about the, you know, princes of greed. He said, ‘Look, here’s what happened,’”
Only FDR wasn’t in office in 1929 and there wasn’t any television then either.
In the same interview, he called an Obama ad attacking McCain as computer illiterate “terrible.” Last week, he criticized the government bailout of AIG without checking with the campaign first. Barack Obama later said, quote, “I think Joe should have waited.”
There’s more. Biden said that paying higher taxes was the patriotic duty of the rich. And earlier this month he told a crowd that Hillary Clinton may have been a better vice presidential pick than he was. Like we said…never at a loss for words.
Here’s my question to you: Is Joe Biden an asset or a liability for Barack Obama?
===
Thought those of you more in the know than me could send Cafferty a good response.

1. If these statements (and just forget that the Roosevelt one isn't factual - this |
|
is what people will keep repeating) -- Anyway, if these statements disqualify a candidate who has a breath and depth of knowledge and experience in foreign affairs, has introduced landmark legislation for womens' rights, was key in getting funding for MRAPS for our troops in Iran, then we're screwed. It's absurd that some misstatements and misintreperted sound bites would cancel out all the good this man can bring to our ticket and do for our country.

3. I have one awaiting moderation, too -- essentially what I posted here |
|
and am kicking myself for using 'breath' instead of breadth -- but anyway, we'll too late to make it on his show.
I'll be looking forward to seeing a clip of it, though, because the comments were overwhelmingly supportive, so I'd like to see which he chooses to read.

7. I think Cafferty likes Biden better then Phalin |
|
but then again that is not hard to do, she is over her head and not in the same league as Joe on any anything so I don't think that is surprising.

8. wtf? Did he not hear Joe's speech on Wednesday? |
|
I rewatched it and decided that Joe was totally setting up Obama for tonite, and my feelings were confirmed when someone from the Obama camp was on msnbc yesterday repeating the same talking points.
How can these assholes not see how much Joe brings to the ticket?

10. Joe made a major foreign policy speech on Wed. |
|
It was amazing - and all the networks covered it.
I think JIOOU has a link if you missed it. Definitely worth watching.
