Watching the debate from Croatia

Hey guys, I am in the internet cafe now watching Cupcake. 5 minutes in and Sarin Fargo is making me want to hurl. Joe looks great, he is very measured and wise.

It was really great. Sarah wasn't a disaster, but Joe was amazing. I don't think he could have been better.

2. He handled her perfectly.

For all the hand wringing on DU & in the media about how Joe will be too hard on Palin or Joe will make gaffes, he was perfect. He stayed on message -- point out McCain's faults, ignore Palin.

I loved when she was talking about taxing the oil companies in AK & he said (paraphrase) "We would love to do what you did in AK, nationally!" She was taken aback by that. And I was glad he waited until the end to take her to task on the John McCain the maverick meme. He let her use that meme all through the debate & then he very deftly deflated it. (paraphrase) "John McCain is no maverick on the issues that really matter to the American people."

Considering the circumstances, who he was debating & how everyone thought he should behave toward her, Joe could not have done better!

It would have been fun to watch him go up against someone like Liberman, Romeny or Huckabee, wouldn't it? Now that would have been the debate of debates!

glad you got to see it.

And I agree Biden was great.
There was only one thing he said that could've been better and that was his comments on gay marriage.
He was a little too harsh.

10. I just got home late last night

Weather was icky, cold and windy, some sunshine. It's nicer here in D-land today. Perfect fall day. Truth be told thought I am suffering from terrible homesickness these past couple weeks.

I miss my daughters something fierce. Sometimes I feel like life is just whizzing by and they are on the other end of the universe. :cry: :cry:
