One week from today we change the course of HISTORY |
|
Are you ready??
Turns out, I will be at home (not in France as originally thought, I'm okay with that) watching the election returns ALL NIGHT LONG.
I plan on sleeping the following day. Not teaching. :D

1. I've got my hopes up that Obama can win this thing big enough to overcome election shenanigans. |

I don't think I can take another '04 or '00. If it happens again, I'll have to get some serious anti-depressants from my doc. It's either that or become an alcoholic. I wasn't too worried about it, but as the election draws closer & we read more accounts of disenfranchisement & vote switching, I must confess, I'm worried they will pull it off . . . again.
Why didn't the dems address this issue over the past four years? If we win the White House & don't address this issue the next four years, we will get what we deserve.
edit: spelling

2. "they" won't pull it off again.... |
|
the numbers for Barack/Joe will be too massive to overcome.
Vizualize the outcome that you want it to be, and then let it go. The Universe is going to rid us of these assholes. Gaia is wise.

5. I'm inclined to believe that the numbers WILL |

be too great to steal an election, but it is disturbing that that is the only way we can win without it being stolen. Too many people have gotten away with too much shit for too long! Time for a reckoning!

and the issue has been swept under the rug so many times. The laws concerning election tampering have to be much stricter and consequences dire. Messing with a person's right to vote needs to be as serious as child abuse and murder!

Been phonebanking today - it's so motivating to call people you don't know that support Obama as much as you do :)
And I finally got my Obama/Biden sign.

but unless I already know the person I hate it. I think it's just how my brain and senses work - I'm a visual learner and communicator. I'm also a terrible salesman.

10. They give you a script, so it's not too bad. |

And you call Dems. I wouldn't want to do it if I had to call repugs.
I'm a terrible salesman too. I just can't push people to change their mind. It's not in me.

11. I called in 2000 for Gore, my Dem neighbors to GOTV |
|
that was pretty cool. In 2003 primaries I worked for the Clark campaign, but honestly I did not like calling people in NH, many were just so annoyed at all the campaigns calling them non-stop, during dinner, etc. I liked doing Viz (visibility, where you stand on a street corner and act like an idiot screaming and waving signs).
LOL. I would have loved to do VIZ for Joe. :D

12. I did VIZ in 2004 for Kerry (along with phonecalls) |

My one daughter and her friend and I stood at the entrance of a polling place in a very red part of town. It was fun. We got alot of fingers, but alot of honks. Plus MoveOn was there, set up outside to help people with voting probs.
Oh well. :( I don't like to think about that election.

I sat through the tally procedure as the Dem representative in my little district. We were very close to Bush, I think that asshat squeaked by with less than 100 votes. The PUBE monitor was shitting bullets.
