Took them very quick actually! Looks like the old lever system in Delaware, we just got rid of them last year in CT (have optical scanners). I had tears in my eyes watching Joe and his family and Barack and his family vote.

I guess it could be the last time, though people are fighting to save the levers (over touch-screen I guess - haven't followed the reform like I should have this year). Voted on scanners in MN like we used for standardized tests in school and those worked fine and felt safe (paper backup), so I'd be happy with those.

8. I got up around 5-ish.

Whenever I'd wake up I'd check the time, add three hours, to see if the polls were open on the East Coast yet. I couldn't wait to get up and watch the coverage - although it's been somewhat dull...

I love that CNN has the countdown clock to when the first polls close. It's on their website, too, JIOOU. Where can you watch the goings-on? I'm guessing the news sites will have streaming coverage.

9. I forced myself to keep going back to sleep

so I can stay up all night! I don't want to miss anything!

12. No - they're not into this at all. My sister in law will talk about the topic,

and how she knew from the beginning that she wanted Obama, but that's about it.

I think even tonight, with the returns coming in, my brother will be watching some other lame show -- we'll see if I'm right.

Luckily, they have cable TV in the basement, too, so I can go down there and watch (and freeze).
