I am so looking forward to the coming days. (Well, after 4 days off to rest up, lol )
You guys were wonderful.
I think I slept better knowing that America is going to be in such good, steady, knowledgeable and steady hands now.
So, from one DU John Kerry person to all of you: Congratulations and I can't wait to work with you all next year!

2. Tay Tay - you are the best!! |

Kerry did so much for Obama's win. He was amazing - and I must admit, he was such a strong supporter that when I was supporting Hillary - I was a little miffed at him :P
Have you heard anything thru the grapevine on what role Kerry will play in an Obama administration? SoS? Or my personal wish - Chair of the SFRC? Whatever it is, he is going to be an integral part of the next 8 years. (heck ya, I'm optimistic)

Ah, DU being a public forum and all, nope, I have no news on what will happen.
Senator Kerry was just re-elected to the Senate. He is looking forward to another six year term. Nothing else has been discussed.
We will see what happens over the next few days and months in terms of Senate re-organizations and such.
The Cabinet stuff is up to President-Elect Obama.
(Seriously, everything is rumor. Don't believe half of what you read. And Team Obama has been very good at not revealing their card hands.)
And, ah, officially, no comment. We are just thrilled to be re-elected, thrilled for the new Pres and VP-Elect and thrilled for this country. And ready for some time off. LOL!

5. So as Senator, what committee do you think Kerry would chair? |
|
He'll be the senior Dem on SFRC except for Dodd, right, who will still keep chairing Banking?
Or is there another committee Kerry chairs and would rather keep?

So glad you stopped by. I feel in many ways a great weight has been lifted from shoulders. I know, now that our country is in responsible hands that I can trust to do what's best. I haven't felt this way for years.
Cute story, completely off-topic. I teach 4th grade. There is a little girl in my room named Taylor. We were talking about nicknames, and she mentioned that sometimes people call her "Tay". I thought of you, and told her I knew of someone that had a nickname, TayTay. Well, guess what? Yup...I keep getting these papers turned in with TayTay at the top. Makes me think of you and all the great Kerry folks.
To better years ahead with the adults in charge. Kerry, Obama, Biden...now that's a team I can believe in!
Take care, TayTay the first. LOL

7. Very nice post, TayTay & thank you! |

I think Kerry would have made an excellent president! I honestly believe he would have gone down as one of the best ever!
I was depressed for months after the '04 election. However, I wasn't even aware of it until one day my husband asked me what was wrong. I said, "What do you mean?" He said, "You've been moping around for months. Is everything ok between us?" That really shocked me -- that he thought there might be a problem between the two of us! I reassured him that we weren't the problem. Then I gave it some thought & realized that I was depressed over the election. He thought that was kind of funny - not in a mean sense, but just that I took it so seriously, whereas, in his usual manner, it just rolled right off of him. It took real concentration on my part to snap out of it.
In '04 I got home from the polls around 9:15pm (mountain time) & Ohio, which was going Kerry, just magically flipped in about 20 minutes time. I was sick to my stomach - literally. I cried myself to sleep & called in sick the next day.
This year was different. I never supported Obama to the same degree I supported Kerry. At least, not until he selected Biden. But I also had seen that in '04, half our nation still had their collective head up their collective butt in terms of boosh & I wasn't overly confident that that had changed, so I was more prepared for an unexpected outcome this time around. I'm glad they weren't successful in pulling off another coup! But I still marvel that 46% of our voting population voted for McCain-Palin. :eyes:  :eyes:
I think Obama & Biden are an excellent team, but I will always wonder what a Kerry administration would have accomplished!

TayTay and pirhana know me from the Kerry group, so was just passing through saying congrats to the Biden group for making history. As Tay said America is going to be in good hands and President-Elect Barack Obama and Vice President-Elect Joe Biden are going to be a great team the next 8 years.
Also, shout out to K group visitor JoeIsOneOfUs. Thanks for the SFRC posts! :hi:
