Last night my husband came home from work and gave me a big hug, said that even though he disagrees with Obama's policies and politics, he was happy that history was made and brought me a copy of the Washington Post.

Before bed he said soon we need to discuss which inauguration events to attend.

He wasn't "enthusiastic" but...he's a quiet, nerdy type, so he doesn't "enthuse" easily :rofl:

He said, "I have wanted to see a black man become president. Just not THIS black man. But we'll see how he does."

At least he's open to THAT....

And no, I didn't ask him *which* black man he had in mind, though Colin Powell comes to mind.

come to like and respect him once he gets in office.

He's a die hard republican to the same degree that I am a die hard Dem.

But - this is funny.
On Wed he told me my daughter called him from college. What did she have to say, I asked.
