Got this in my Google Biden Alerts -- |
|
Top Amtrak Executive Resigns
Amtrak’s chief executive, Alex Kummant, resigned after two years marked by significant growth in ridership and revenue, the national passenger railroad said. Mr. Kummant’s resignation is effective immediately, said an Amtrak spokesman, Cliff Black, though he would not say why Mr. Kummant was leaving. William Crosbie, the railroad’s chief operating officer, will serve as acting president and C.E.O. Amtrak has posted six years of ridership and revenue growth, due in part to high gasoline and airline prices.
Don't know exactly why that was included because Joe's name (or Hunter's) isn't in the article -- not a mention of a Biden anywhere.
Anyway, wonder what this means...

2. There was another alert which had a longer piece on this, and that DID mention |
|
Hunter, so that's probably why I got it.
But, it's still interesting -- how a guy who helped the company all of a sudden resigns. I wonder if it's something bad, or if it's something good, like maybe an Obama appointment?

I'm actually interested in Amtrak because of Joe, and the phenomenal train systems in Europe (as 48 was talking about) --
And I'm hopeful with Joe there in the WH, we have a chance of developing our train system. Which is what made me wonder -- if that guy was going to help the WH with that effort... :7

his VP pick. Whomever he chooses now is fine by me.
Edit -- should that be "whoever"?

now, though there was a time when I wasn't too sure. This guy has turned out to be really sharp!

11. And bottom line, it doesn't matter what we think. He's not coming to us |
|
for advice!
But I agree -- I've come to trust his judgment since he's been pretty brilliant thus far!

12. He does seem to be brilliant |
|
as well as very human. I watched the interview on 60 Minutes a little while ago and they are such a likable family.
He may not be coming to us for advice, but public opinion is still very important for a successful presidency. At this rate I think he's on the right road.

13. Interesting development indeed. |

I know I am going to have train withdrawal while I am home over Turkey Day. It is my sincere hope that the US get some kind of super cool rail system going, maybe they will now that the Auto industry is about to collapse.
