Update on sending birthday cupcakes |
|
I just got off the phone with Biden's office here in DC to see if it'd be possible to send cupcakes. I was on hold for about 3 minutes and the person I spoke to said the chief of staff said it wouldn't be possible, mainly due to security concerns.
The mail is on a 2 week delay (!) because of screening and with packages they pretty much bust things up to check them out so by the time he got them, they'd be a mess, not to mention 2 weeks old and nasty. :-(
They said they appreciated the offer and suggested sending something to a charity in his name instead.
Oh and the staffer I talked to said she has been waiting for her mail from DE for *3* weeks now. *sigh*

1. Personally I just think we should let it slide for this year. |
|
If we knew where he was, that would be one thing.
But next year, we really need to get it together.
The 'Kerrycrats' send Kerry a card every year with all of their signatures on it. They are so organized over there - they start months ahead of time. One person gets it, and mails it to the next person. Then a couple of them hand deliver it to him. Maybe we could do something like that next year? Plus we know his address.
Count me in for doing it right next year :)

2. Hand-deliver it? Really? Wow |
|
I dunno Pirhana, since he's going to be VP now I suspect he's going to be unapproachable.

3. Well - I was thinking that you |
|
should jump out of a cake for him :)
You know I'm kidding - right?
We would definitely have to mail it to him. I don't think the Secret Service would let a stalker like myself get near Joe ;)
