Nixon called Joe Biden the day after the accident.

3. I've just been following the news sporadically today

so I'm only getting bits and pieces. Hopefully Keith will sum the day up for me so I can get the big picture! The whole Nixon thing sounds fascinating.

but not of Nixon calling Joe. Yet Wolf played it twice.

My heart just went out for Joe getting that call. He wasn't even in the Senate yet.

Matthews was really getting a kick out of those tapes. Surprised he didn't play the Joe one, but I don't think he wanted to play anything that might put Nixon in a favorable light.

It lists JRBi as a particpant in the conversation and its dated Dec 19 1972 so I assume that is it. I haven't listened to it yet, you have to download the mp3.

Biden only spoke for a couple of seconds. It was the tone in his voice that broke my heart.
