1. I think we've forgiven E.J. Dionne though

He turned around and became an avid Biden supporter. I used to like Maureen Dowd, but after reading Joe's book, I can't read her articles anymore.

How about the kids who made fun of Joe's "nuts n bolts" at the dance?

5. Kids are young and stupid

Although it doesn't make it right, we all know kids can be cruel...so we sort of expect it

Adults SHOULD be able to harbor some goodwill and common decency, and know right from wrong, however....(yeah, *right*...not holding my breath on THAT one....especially where republicans are concerned)

2. What I found out around here

is that Maureen Dowd is not popular with alot of DUers for alot of different reasons.

I used to be a fan of hers. NO MORE - never again.

EJ Dionne was so kind to Biden during this last primary season that I had to fact check that it was really him that helped bring Biden down in '88.

A fantastic book. I couldn't put it down, and I'm not one that enjoys reading.
I felt as if I really got to know Joe Biden thru that book. And respect him even more.

4. I guess I enjoyed Dowd when she was Bush-bashing,

but then I found out she just bashes everyone. She just doesn't have anything good to say about anyone!

7. He was very young

and really didn't understand Joe. When Joe was picked for VP, Dionne was effusive with his praise. He's a good guy who made a mistake!

Finally reading it myself, around 9/11 right now, so no spoilers anybody. :) Even though I'd heard most of the stories before there are suprises and it's such a great read.

There are just some people that do not know how to be decent and good.
