http://www.esquire.com/features/joe-biden-biography-0209-3Warning - it's loooooong - but worth it on edit - it's Biden talking about what it was like for him while deciding if he wanted to be VP, and what it is like for him now standing in the shadows of Obama.

I accidentally started at page three too, but it still was a great read. The part about his disastrous presidential campaign in 1987 was a bit painful though. That was a lot of pointless mistakes for one campaign, but in the long run, it worked out for the best.

8. Hey, I like your new name! |

Great article about Joe. I agree about the campaign in 1987 but somehow everything all worked out. LOL at the Sec Serv agent that asked him if he speaks to people that way all the time. Of course he does, he is Joe!

Everything did work out and Joe is finally getting the recognition he deserves. He clearly wasn't ready in 1987.

14. I love how it ended, when Joe said that things turned out right. |

What a selfless statement.

He had some maturing to do, plus if he'd won the presidency, he might not have lived to move into the White House.

9. Pirhana you made me cry!!! |

Or rather Joe did...
"Then they talk about the pool at the vice-president's mansion and the possibility of a puppy — the important things, as he puts it. The whole time, he strokes her hair and cups her chin, caresses her cheek and cups her chin again, not even aware of what he's doing. He's a person who loves with his hands, who gives affection without reserve. And Finnegan loves him back the same way, leaning against him with absolute trust and pride. Then little Natalie toddles up and wraps her arms around his leg."
  this is just too sweet for words. And why I love Joe so much. :loveya: :loveya:

12. He's the kind of Grandpa you dream of! |

My Gramps was loving in other ways, he was German and a bit more physically reserved at times, but my mom tells me I was the apple of his eye. I remember wanting to always go for rides in his VW bug (1960s) "the poppy car!" Before carseats, I would crawl into the very back behind the seats and sleep or hide. :D
