JoeIs - how do you feel about Kirsten Gillibrand taking Hillary's seat? |
|
I know you had your reservations about Caroline (you were right btw).

3. as for Paterson, in case anyone doesn't know, he's legally blind |
|
so he can come across a little odd in public speaking if you don't realize that. He actually has a phenomenal memory.
He used to be minority leader of the state senate.

My opinion has nothing to do with that, I just think this whole thing was handled rather weirdly.

8. I figured you knew, but thought others might not. I'm with you on strange and the local press |
|
is most critical of Paterson out of this whole thing.

2. Bleah. Had mixed feelings about her on paper, hearing her speak is not impressing me. |

But I can't think of others I'd be crazy about. The NY Dem party is kind of a mess it seems to me (I have no involvement in it). I might have preferred Cuomo, but on the other hand, my impression is he's doing good work as NY Atty General so I'm glad to have him stay.
I'd have loved Rep. Hinchey, but he's too old and too liberal and not politically connected enough I guess.
I do wonder about some of the politicians who dropped out of consideration in the wake of CK's "campaign" - including some more senior women reps.
I am encouraged to have someone from upstate who knows about agriculture.
