I just tested "The Sheriff" |
|
It came to my attention today that my governor has already misused Stimulus funds.
I reported her.
She took 59 mill of stimulus dollars that was for the disabled community in our state and used those funds to help balance the budget. Because of that, the disabled are losing healthcare, therapies, prescription coverage, independent living resources and more.
We will see how he does....

7. I'll give him some time to get home from that Nato summit before I |
|
expect a response.
But I put in my comments that I will keep bugging him until he takes care of it.
The stories I heard today from the families and the individuals whose benefits got cut were heartbreaking. Example - This young woman in a wheelchair needs a caregiver to help her get out of bed, get dressed, bathe, cook so she can go to work -- funding for that type of caregiver was drastically cut. And our governor just took the money for something else.

though I can't say I'm surprised. God forbid any republicans raise a tax here or there to balance their budgets. No, just raid the handicap funds - no one will notice. They are so quick to criticize Obama and the stimulus plan, but damned if they don't have their hands out for their share.

2. I'm glad you did that... |

This is what scares me the most.......States are notorious for taking money for many identifiable things and then just sticking it into the General Fund. I have been around and around with some legislators here in Iowa over the years. It's a weak and cowardly thing to do.
I am shocked it happened so quickly in this case.....they usually make it look for awhile like they are doing what they are suppose to do....then wham...into the General fund. Most people never know anything any different.
Good Job!!

9. We've got to keep an eye on our governors and mayors, esp if they are |
|
repubs; esp with the states being in debt.

10. What really surprised me today was that it was |
|
the republican rep from my district that showed up today and not the dem that I worked so hard to get elected. (she got an email from me too ;) )
I have a feeling Brewer will not get elected in 2010. Thank god.

15. Hee hee - Arizona is getting audited. |
|
Guess I wasn't the only one that complained.
It's been done by the GAO, so I don't know if the "Sheriff" even had anything to do with it, but I'm so happy :)
